This mentorship enables students to undertake a period of supervised regular scanning, at the conclusion of which competency will be assessed through a review of the scan portfolio and an observed structured clinical examination (OSCE). The 14 clinical questions addressed in this course are below:
General practitioner and specialist interested in Point of Care Ultrasound in GP and Minor Surgery/ Joint Injections
BSc (Hons), MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP, PgCert (Medical Ultrasound) Doctor within the NHS.
Lee is an NHS GP using his skills in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to facilitate his practice and augment the patient journey. This expedites patient care and significantly increases patient satisfaction. His areas of scan interest include the abdomen, testes, soft tissue lesions, MSK, vascular and using POCUS to plan minor surgical procedures including joint injections. Lees’ passion in this area has allowed him to travel, teach and highlight the benefit of POCUS to other GPs around Europe.

Involved from the industry side in the development and adoption into clinical use of various image guided applications including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) – guided FNA, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) – guided FNA, Laser fetoscopy for treatment of Twin-Twin Transfusion syndrome (named author on first report of use), Interstitial image guided laser therapies, HIFU for treatment of prostate ca. Member of technical application teams at Olympus leading introduction of Narrow Band Imaging into gastroenterology, urology and surgery.

In order to perform image guided injections in your workplace you must conform to your local guidelines and competency requirements.
Our Foundation courses are specifically designed for people who have no previous scanning experience.

When you have registered you’ll be asked to fill out a form which gives us your preferred delivery details. Your Orca POD will be shipped to you via DHL Express. You get to keep and use the Orca POD for the entire duration of the course and we’ll arrange the collection after the last session/assessment.
We provide pre-course technical support to help you from the time you receive your Orca POD. Our team is available for one-on-one meetings before and between sessions to support you.
When someone is unable to attend a session a colleague can attend in their place.
The Course Fee includes the rental of the equipment for the entire duration of the course as well as the tutor’s fee, shipping, CPD points and certificate.
