Building the practical scanning experience required for a Postgraduate Certificate in diagnostic ultrasound can be challenging, particularly when access to suitable patients, supervised scanning and experienced clinical guidance is limited.
Orca Medical’s Ultrasound Mentoring in Podiatry service provides structured support for podiatrists completing a PGCert or other formal Level 7 ultrasound training. Through supervised scanning sessions, participants can develop their image-acquisition technique, apply ultrasound principles within relevant podiatric examinations and work towards the practical scanning experience required by their programme.
Mentoring is focused on real clinical development. Participants receive guidance on equipment operation, probe handling, image optimisation, anatomical recognition and systematic scanning technique, with constructive feedback designed to improve consistency and diagnostic confidence. It also provides dedicated time to discuss cases, reflect on findings and identify areas for further development.
Our aim is to help podiatrists build meaningful, well-supported scanning experience while progressing towards competent and confident clinical practice.
Build your scanning experience. Strengthen your technique. Progress with expert support.
