Thinking about introducing diagnostic ultrasound into your podiatry practice?
Before investing in equipment or beginning to scan patients, it is important to understand the qualification requirements and the role that introductory training can play.
The Royal College of Podiatry states that podiatrists using diagnostic or point-of-care ultrasound should hold a Level 7 CASE-accredited ultrasound qualification, with a Postgraduate Certificate as the minimum standard of award. It also makes clear that short courses do not replace this formal postgraduate qualification.
So, where does an introductory course fit?
At the beginning of the journey.
Orca Medical’s Introduction to Ultrasound in Podiatry course is designed to help clinicians explore the fundamentals of ultrasound and POCUS, understand ultrasound equipment and image optimisation, and gain practical scanning experience before progressing to formal postgraduate study.
The course also provides ongoing mentoring, helping participants consolidate their learning, ask questions and begin developing the practical foundations needed for the next stage of their ultrasound education.
Learn the foundations. Understand the equipment. Start building your confidence.
